Avenue Aesthetics

Love Yourself

Who Am I?

So, who am I anyway? What will I eventually put on the back of my best-selling book? What gives me the right to talk about this stuff? It’s time to tell you about me, and my qualifications.

I am Gayle Morton  – Certified Oncology Aesthetician,  Certified Xtreme Lash Technician, Certified Podologist and diabetic pedicurist, and  Permanent Makeup Artist.

I was educated in Calgary, Alberta – first receiving my Diploma of Cosmetology from the Province of Alberta in 1979. I began my career as a hair dresser and moved into aesthetics in late 1980. From there I trained extensively in manicures, therapeutic pedicures and artificial nail services, waxing, facials, body treatments, and lash extensions. I am also a permanent makeup specialist.

I hold an additional diploma from Zeneba Academy of Esthetics (2000) and the designation of Certified Podologist (C.Pod(i) – 144) in advanced foot care through the Canadian Examining Board of Health Care Practitioners (2001). I have extensive experience with diabetic pedicure treatments as well as working with clients experiencing peripheral neuropathy and Hand and Foot Syndrome related to the side effects of chemotherapy drug treatment following cancer diagnosis.

I have also trained in accordance with Health Canada Regulations for Infection Control in the Spa Industry (2007). I have created a curriculum for manicure and artificial nail courses that I have taught many times. I believe ongoing education is critical to keeping specialists current in the ever-evolving practices and equipment of the beauty industry.

In February of 2015 I was involved in bringing an international oncology aesthetics instructor to Calgary, Alberta for the first ever Oncology Esthetics Foundation Training course held anywhere in Alberta. This course has qualified me to offer modified manicure, pedicure, facial and body treatments to cancer patients and survivors. It also means I can offer safe and gentle services to these individuals in an environment that acknowledges and accommodates the compromised nature of their health while undergoing and recovering from cancer surgeries, cytotoxic chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

I am Gayle Morton. I am Avenue Aesthetics.

I am very thankful to have found Gayle and Avenue Aestetics – being diabetic, it’s challenging to find professionals who know how to do a proper pedicure— and Gayle is a true professional! Will be a client for life!!!
